WAA is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization established in 2000. The organization is an outcome of the need for evolving a suitable community development response to the socially, politically, economically and above all, psychologically affected communities that live in war-torn Afghanistan. “Empowered Women” (women share political, economic and social power as the men within their environment) is our vision and developing a sustainable organization to effectively facilitate the process of community development is our mission. Our core values are based on dignity, social justice, transparency and accountability, leadership, excellence, honesty and integrity.
